gonna do this in character sheet style as it will be easier to lay him out ill put a joke in for general appearance to amuse you :

Race: Human
Proffession: monk


Appearance:
Height: 5'9
Weight: 14 stonne (muscle )
Build/figure: Hard to tell through his clothing, because it is baggy, but anyone would assume that he is a frail, nearly weightless old man. In reality, if he were to remove his clothes, he would be pretty muscular, and surprisingly so for an old man.
General: he's bald head wrinkly skin, raspy voice hunched back and a slow wobbly walk this man is clearly obscenely old and with all the features! (with open bar XB)
Voice:his voice is raspy and struggled and often wheesy as if struggling for breath

Background:
zach was born and raised in a monk monestary deep in the mountains, he was taught to read and write at a young age as well as the very basics of unarmed combat,

at his preteen years he had become a full fledged monk and worked on copying and translating text

until he reached adolescence when his unarmed training was put up to the next level of intensity, toughening his body and mind and teaching him the very basics of KI control.

in his mid thirties he had mastered regulating his ki to maintain his health and bodily strength and began teaching the younglings the basics of hand to hand combat and sparring with the adolecent students.

by his late fifties he had learned the more advanced moves and tricks and began teaching other monks the trickier more advanced movements at the same time as he developed his own.

by his early eighties he was out into the world stumbling across a chain of isles devoted to the vice and pleasures of the body where he dabbled in magic and some local vice and discovered he has a liking to the fairer of the species.

he didnt remain very long though and soon he was off again and sailed to a haven to the odd and exotic to further pursue his "pilgrimage of knowlage" and discovered that magic is a very volatile practice and decided to stick to what he knows and resumed his development of more advanced techniques.

by his early nineties his physical strength and fortitude failed him and had a near fatal incursion with thugs in the northern snowy reaches and spent halkf a decade in a warm town recovering his strength and refortifying his body, channeling all fo his past expereince into KI control to resotre his body and maintain it for a few more years.

and so we reach the now and he has arrived in tohoku (or waht its called) with a new quest to reteach himself a new approach to restore his old talents.

I would like to see, personally, some area's of Shinma mentioned in this. You can always ask Scorchys, or any of the other DM's for more information on the area's. Here the current(Incomplete, mind you) map of Shinma: https://kallis.forummotion.com/t307-grandia-shinma-map

At some point, I'll try to help Scorchys out by drawing a custom map for her with her help. Just going to get through this and next weekend, do some more stuff, and then help out with the Shinma Wiki. Or the map; Whichever, if either, are preferred.

Personally, I'd suggest penalties for this age. Forbidden would perma-kill you if you tried learning any variation(Techs, Spells, Power-Level). Damage would be a -1 when you're hitting someone with your own body, and you would take an extra point of damage per hit. At your age, you really shouldn't be moving. No monk in their 90's has the stamina or the constitution that they once had in their youth. You would still gain the bonus of +1 to hit and dodge in my events(When fighting another that is unarmed and not of the monk class). The rest aside from the last bit are my suggestions.

If you could add in how a +1 teaching/learning bonus could be given, would welcome it. If it is reasonable then I'd say it should be added; Depends on what the description would be.

all fair points but may i just point out that there are several reasons for the +1 to teaching/learning and the fact you mentioned that makes me feel as if you didnt read it all that carefully, as for the age theres about 20 years threshold form his last actual play in any server, everything in the sheet are alterations form when ive actually played him, he could just be 81 or 89 if thats better XD

Oh no, I did. You taught before IC'ly. Yes. I meant to actually give you a bonus, as anyone can teach and anyone can learn. Those that learn faster, pick up on things much more easily than others. Those that can teach others in multiple ways do so from understanding where their student is coming from, what will help them to learn from their teacher. You apparently missed how I meant the bonuses to even out your penalties due to your age.

The age is up to you. If none of the other DM's have an issue with it and think my suggestions aren't needed, they can say so. These are only suggestions for your characters RP to be a bit more realistic. And I do understand that you've played this character on multiple servers, but the point is that the world of Shinma is a world all it's own; Your character request would be asking too much if you would be RP'ing this character from a whole other world/dimension. Would make it easier if you used places from the world of Shinma rather than vague descriptions. Would bring more depth to this character, and would allow for more conversation options in the future. Would also allow newer players to find out more about this custom world of Scorchys own creation.

im using the other servers as a refrance for shinma based places and to make it easier on me to gauge his age, and thanks for explaining that out to me.

if i had more in depth information about shima than it would be easier to refrance actual places, but i dont know all that much about it andf the threads i check are more background for the server, unless im missing a really obvious thread somewhere

It's not that you aren't missing anything. They aren't completed is all. You can always ask around on places that would fit your characters story: The oriental lands would work for where your character began. As for the bit about islands, I know we have them in the world of Shinma, but I can't name them off the top of my head. I do understand why you're using other servers, but it does help if you ask people(Such as Scorchys) more about the world. Can ask specific questions that pertain to this character(Where places are, what's there, etc.) or a future character you may wish to make.

The area lores are going to be finished, and I'm hoping there is detail about the area's as well. Remember this for future reference: If you don't know it yourself, ask others that might.(DM's and/or veterans of the server) If you're not sure if something you want to do conflicts with something already existing, ask a DM.

at 100 years old a human is useless in combat >_>

In the red I have posted what would be more acceptable in the way of description. Please do explain what an obscenely old man would look like and explain the open bar reference.

the "with open bar" is a refrance to an obscure joke form TFS AND the "with all the features" part, suggesting his age still affects him, and for any that might still not get it think liquids and old people ^.^ just about anythign you come to conclusion will probably apply
