(this is merely an example to show what i mean and values would/could be modified)

Adding this would more or less lead to the fact that the DM's wouldnt need to involve themselves with too
much of the character's level/stat-progressions at all, thus this would reduce the players needs to have DM's
to progress, this system would work with a generalized token as currency, and if implented it would lead to that the
DM's only would have to involve themselves with custom-content such as Custom Powers/Techniques/Other widgets the system is rather simple in the end but it would come with the need to stop having separate tokens for separate DM's along with having the tokens becoming undroppable, the DM's would hand them out in events and as reward for RP as per standard current-system.


Mind that this is only a suggestion thus far and we'd still need someone to script it along with the rest-menu
implentation.

The problem with this is an if factor. If the script doesn't take the tokens for whatever reason, it's hard for the DM's to really keep track of anything. From what I'd be able to see is that this is suited for a PW in terms of scripting and DM's being able to mod their PW script for another script to keep track of the script needed for this idea. It's a nice idea but I'm not for it at this point in time. If someone took it upon themselves to script it and handed it to us to test out, I'd say "sorry" at this point because the DM's can't keep track of who bought what and when. For the times they are(if) given a refund.

I know that the players here on Shinma could easily just post what they gained from this in their character bio, but then again they could say they got more than they actually did if the script breaks. It's happened in the past with "The One Who Shall Never Be Mentioned Again". Though we didn't have the script, nor other servers did, this one player mentioned they had things they never actually bought in their character bio's.

Well basicaly the DM's would give out the tokens that is used as a currency for this so its still more or less controlled, its merely made up with inmind to allow players to go through things such as stat-upgrades or levels without pestering DM's allowing such to work on more important things such as custom-related stories and items, keeping track of how many tokens are handed out could easily solve your problem off mild-controll obsession or whatever you want to call it, just saying we wouldnt realy release the script into the module without making sure that it works properly and refuses to hand the player things should it not posses sufficent tokens.

Sounds pretty awesome, would just have to make sure somehow that it won't allow players to exceed their statcap (35?) otherwise you'll have a few issues.

Not sure how you'll manage that unless you can introduce a script into it where it adds up the values and stops the chat from working once the value reaches 35.

And, naturally so it won't go past 38, although i'd imagine that'd be a more simpler matter of having the chat option end (stop showing up or stop having any function) once it reached that certain point.

There's also the issue of people exceeding the 1 level/day unless you could throw in a script allowing each player to use the level option once a day, the script resetting once every 24 hours.

In short, it's an awesome suggestion, but its also a lot of work and a lot of massive headaches for whoever's working on it. Razz

Another option would be to allow players to "convert" their normal RP tokens into
"Purchase Tokens" that would more or less allow the DM's to track this easier in the end, as the players would post their convertion of normal token to the currency for this system.
